First impressions

The Beko WTL92151W 9KG washing machine is a large free-standing washing machine. Despite its size, it does not ¨overpower ¨ a room. If you have a modern open-planned living area (like me), this washing machine easily fits in.

It comes complete with a range of quick wash and other programmes that are perfect for busy family life. The Beko WTL92151W 9KG washing machine has a B energy rating. In its favour, it does a 9kg load in 28 minutes.

Features and settings

This cost-effective washing machine offers plenty of choice when it comes to programmes and features. You have 15 wash cycles to choose from out of which two are dedicated quick wash cycles.

There is also a feature called Fast + Function. This feature lets you reduce the duration of any programme by 55%. Other features include variable spin speed and temperature settings.

There is a pause facility which is a handy feature, overflow protection and child lock- all important to have.

The list of available programmes is extensive. As the washing machine is geared toward families, it would have been nice to see a Baby cycle on the list. For some reason or another, a Baby cycle has not been added. It is worth pointing out that intensive cycles and sensitive cycles are also missing. Most surprisingly, woollens and silk cycles are not available.

If you are not a lover of ironing, you be disappointed to hear that the machine does not have an Easy Iron cycle. What about a Freshen Up Cycle? Sorry, no.

Now that we have got the negatives out of the way, let’s take a look at some of the pros of this rather stylish and cost effective washing machine.

Programmes

The fact that you can use the Fast + Function is a plus point. Very few washing machines let you reduce the duration of a load in this way. The quick wash programmes are an added bonus. It is nice to know that you can wash 9kg in 28 minutes when you are in a hurry. Don’t forget that you have a 2kg quick wash programme that only takes 14 minutes.

When you wash a lot of shirts, you can take advantage of the Shirts cycle. It should ensure that shirts come out less creased. The machine does not have a Steam function which many like to use when washing clothes. But, it does have automatic load adjustment which means it operates smoothly. It contributes to noise reduction.

If you need to wash more delicate fabrics, you have two cycles you can use. Both Delicates and Hand Wash are handy when it comes to washing delicate lingerie or even woollens. When you wash a lot of sports or gym clothes, you have a Sports cycle that you can use.

As far as cotton cycles go, the Beko WTL92151W 9KG washing machine does not disappoint. The two longer cotton cycles do not take forever. The 40 Celsius cycle takes 173 minutes and the 60 Celsius cycle takes 228 minutes. You can use the Fast + Function feature to reduce the cycles but it is not worth it.

During the winter time when most of us wear darker clothes, you have a Darks cycle. Both a Mixed and Synthetics cycle is on the programme list.

The half load function lets you easily reduce the load which is useful if you only have a small amount of clothes or linens of a certain fabric. An Eco wash programme is another advantage.

All of the programmes are readily available from a dial function. An easy-to-read LED display lets you know the remaining time of any programme.

Additional features

Automatic load adjustment means you won’t needlessly waste water and energy on smaller loads. A child lock on the door makes this machine perfectly safe for households with small children.

Overflow protection means you won’t ever have to worry about flooding your kitchen or basement. A handy pause facility enables adding forgotten items even after the programme has started.

How well does the Beko WTL92151W wash clothes?

Compared to other washing machines with a similar price point, you can say that the Beko contains a good range of programmes.

The lower spin speed of 1200 rpm is a bit of a letdown for a bigger drum, but there is plenty of choice when it comes to useful programmes for a busy family.

The two longer cotton programmes are both useful. When you want to use them, you can take advantage of lower electricity costs by using the 19 hour Delay Start feature. Yes, you can programme the Beko 19 hours ahead when you want your laundry finished to fit in with your schedule.

Needless to say, it is a treat to have a full load quick wash programme. You may not use it every week, but at least you know it’s there when you need it. The full load quick wash programme is handy for when you come back from holiday needing to do a lot of washing before you go back to work.

The Spin and Drain cycle is another good feature for when you would like to spin your clothes to get them extra dry.

Yes, the Beko WTL92151W 9KG washing machine may only have a B energy rating and 1200 RPM spin speed. However, it does have one of the most useful quick wash programmes on the market.
