First impressions
If the Bush WMSAE712EW 7KG 1200 Spin could be summed up in one word, it would be “functionality”. It is a user-friendly, efficient machine with an excellent price-performance ratio.
The Bush 7kg washer offers up to 15 wash programmes, including a fast cycle capable of satisfying the most impatient user. In just 15 minutes the clothing is ready. These cycles allow the inclusion of an appreciable variety of fabrics- cotton, wool, silk, synthetics. They also include different types of garments and washing variants as attractive as the ecological one.
With an adaptable spin speed, the machine also has temperature selection, additional rinse and delay timer.
At just over £200, it seems you get a lot of bang for your buck with this machine…But it does have a D energy rating, so make sure you’re not paying more elsewhere!
Pros
- 15 specialised wash cycles
- 12-month warranty
- Comes in white or black
- Easy transport and installation
- Child locking system
Cons
- Large families may need more space for clothes
- D energy efficiency rating.
Bush WMSAE712EW 7KG 1200 Spin Washing Machine Review
Features and settings
With an impressive 15 programmes, 15 minute quick wash and variable spin speed, you can definitely find the wash that fits in with your lifestyle with this Bush washing machine!
There are loads of options to choose from too, within the programme settings-on the control display of the machine, you can gradually reduce the water temperature. Or switch from the maximum temperature in the selected program to, for example, a cold wash.
Before or after the main wash, if the clothing has been particularly soiled and a deeper wash is desired, you can choose between a pre-wash or an additional wash.
Precisely, the appliance includes in its fifteen programmed cycles two specialised in cotton. Prewash at 60 and wash at 90 for particularly soiled cotton and linen fabrics, underwear, towels, bed linen and the like.
The silk wash or eco-wash cycles, to cite two more examples, demonstrate that despite its functionality, the Bush 7kg also incorporates sophistication. A luxury that not everyone can afford, and that this Argos proposal even offers at a reasonable price.
The Bush 7kg accepts softeners at will in each of its wash programmes, except spin and wringing.
Its black LED display is as functional as you could wish for. The contrast between the black and white colour adds to the overall accuracy.
Noise, a recurring problem for many users, should not be a concern here. The Bush 7kg does not sound excessively loud. During the maximum spin phase, the machine reaches a reasonable 79 dB, which is normal in these cases.
The dimensions of the Bush WMSAE712EW 7KG washing machine are H84.5 X W59.7 X D52.7cm and it weighs 62.5kg (just under 10 stone) so be aware it’s heavy! It comes in white or black, depending what would look best in your kitchen/utility room.
The full manual for the Bush washing machine can be found here and also the product information sheet, too.
Performance
The Bush 7kg washer has several specialised functions. On the display in the upper right-hand corner of the machine, you can check the washing time, change the speed and temperature and even delay the process in case of any unforeseen events.
This is a particularly useful feature for working families or people who have to leave the house for a relatively long period of time.
Another useful option is the child lock, which prevents the device from being manipulated by children. The lock is activated when auxiliary functions 3 and 4 are pressed together for no less than three seconds. The LEDs of the auxiliary functions are visible on the display when this protection system is operating.
Although the machine’s LED display accumulates a significant variety of functions, and this may be overwhelming for some people at first, it should not be too scary. It shouldn’t even scare the technophobes! Plus, this device has enough features to make it easy for you. Just turn the dial to the program of your choice and start the washer. Easy peasy.
Energy Rating:
The Bush WMSAE712EW 7KG, in white and elegant design, achieves an energy efficiency rating of D. So what does this mean? Basically washing machines are rated from A+++ (the most efficient) to D (the least efficient). The lower the rating means the more energy the machine will use to work.
Certainly, this energy rating isn’t great, but if you want to up the energy rating scale, you’ll pay more for the machine- so make sure you do the maths first on how often you will be using the machine and if you think it’s worth the higher upfront cost. To put things into perspective, you may pay around 9p more per wash on a D machine versus an A+++.
Additional features
Automatic load adjustment means you won’t needlessly waste water and energy on smaller loads. A child lock on the door makes this machine perfectly safe for households with small children.
Overflow protection means you won’t ever have to worry about flooding your kitchen or basement. A handy pause facility enables adding forgotten items even after the programme has started.
How well does the Bush WMSAE712EW wash clothes?
In the battle against dirt, technology plays a leading role. And the Bush 7kg proves it in all circumstances. This washing machine is capable of starting up 24 hours after being programmed by its owner. It works collectively and it works alone, but it always does. It deserves four stars out of a possible five.
On the other hand, Bush 7kg also develops speed over short distances. It is true that we are not talking about an extraordinary speed, but it is appreciable enough. Its 15-minute wash option at medium temperature, for moderate quantities of clothing, not too dirty, is very functional. It can get you out of trouble when time is short. Other features to consider are cold water filling, overflow protection and pause function. The estimated energy consumption of this Bush is 195 kW_year.
The Bush 7kg washer is ideal for small families or families that are not characterised by many members. Thus, single people, couples, married couples with few children, friends who share a house and, in general, not too numerous households, are the ideal groups to acquire a machine with these characteristics. So think about how many people’s clothes you’ll be washing in this machine.
Final thoughts on the Bush WMSAE712EW
This machine is easy to use and packed full of features. Its operation is reliable and protects you from mishaps. It has good programme and quick wash options, and generates various temperature levels, ideal to accompany its different operating cycles. You have a lot of choice with this machine.
Argos also includes a take-back and recycling service (for a charge). In addition, the Bush 7kg instruction manual will not leave you frustrated, feeling unable to find the key. The manual is illustrative and accurate. It fits perfectly with the set.
It is worth remembering, moreover, that since 1932 the Bush brand has been an expert in the production and marketing of functional household appliances. And the 12 month warranty reinforced their confidence in the product.
