First impressions of the Hoover DXOA49C3

A state of the art washing appliance which has a clean, bright white finish with a super up to date digital face which is easy to use.

A large 9kg drum together with an A rated spin speed of 1400 rpm and a great choice of programmes makes this an excellent buy.

It has smart One Touch Technology to control and monitor your washing machine via your smartphone through the Hoover Wizard app.

Hoover DXOA 49C3 Programmes and features

The Hoover DXOA 49C3 is a very intelligent washing appliance – from using your smartphone to monitor and control your washing load to its Sensor System in washing your clothes.

It has 15 washing programmes with a very handy quick wash programme of only 14 mins and a half load programme to cut energy and water costs. This machine can automatically measure the volume of washing load and adjusts accordingly.

It has an Eco wash cycle, hand wash cycle, synthetic programme, mixed cycle, a programme for woollens, shirts, sensitive cycle for antiallergy care, cottons, a delicate wash programme, darks cycle and baby clothes cycle. In addition to these you have of course your pre-wash programme and the spin and drain only choice programme.

The water temperature can be adjusted to suit and variable spin speeds available on most programmes that ensures your clothes are not damaged and so that you have real control on the programmes chosen.

The pre-wash option can be used to help eliminate any ground in stains such as work overalls and uniforms.

The whole wash programme can be controlled and monitored from an android smartphone which is an excellent added bonus for busy people on the move!

When a programme is selected the Sensor Technology starts to evaluate the washing load. During the first 4 mins of the programme the machine weighs the clothes and calculates the cycle time, water and electricity consumption to suit the load size. This technology sees the clothes washed in the quickest time and in the most efficient manner saving you money on your bills.

The specially designed 3d drum with curved paddles that really mixes the water and detergent in a way to get the best possible washing results.

How well does the Hoover Washing Machine perform?

As you would expect from a trusted brand, the spinning performance and washing performance is an A class and certainly lived up to my expectations.

I used the pre-wash option with whites cycle for really soiled white overalls together with the stain level button to obtain optimum results and – the results were staggering! The level of whiteness had returned as nearly new overalls and was much better than expected- not 100% obviously but really very good.

How noisy is Hoover Washing Machine operate?

This washing machine has a decibel reading of 61 and so is a little lower than most other machines but I honestly thought it was a little louder than my previous Electrolux but not very noticeable as the spin cycle on this one is registered at 81dB which is in line with other high end makes.

Our Verdict

I couldn’t fault this machine at all.

From being able to control and monitor the phases of the cycle and timings from my smartphone to the super large drum and excellent washing results this machine certainly does live up to the A+++ rating.

I particularly loved the 14 minute super quick wash cycle – a real bonus in a ‘need it clean ASAP’ family world and is certainly value for money.
